Wednesday & Thursday, Days Four & Five

Welcome to the House of Slobs, where you get complementary flies with every meal. Floyd doesn't seem to like their guests, though.

Surrounded by their new guests, Elvira takes the time to reread her medical book, just in case there's a pop quiz.

A few hours later, Floyd emerges victoriously from Doo Peas Corporate Towers, having rightly earned his promotion to Filing Clerk.

His coworker Becky Baker watches him in admiration.

I discovered there were a bunch of shinies behind their house, so I set Floyd on the hunt. Unfortunately, he passes out midway through and slowly sinks into a hill.

While he recovers himself, Elvira continues the gem/rock/metal/bug hunt and stumbles across a mine near their house. Usually this is teeming with all the stuff she's looking for, but today it's only this one iron. :(

These are some scenery shots I got while she was collecting. LOVE that fog effect. Not sure how I achieved it, but it's incredible.

All in all, their efforts end up netting them around 1,300 simoleans, mostly because one metal was FREAKIN' PALLADIUM. So I figure it's about time I get them each what they wished for the first day but couldn't afford: a TV for the Couch Potato and a computer for the Workaholic.

Actually, it was Elvira's wish to get the TV, to my surprise. Aw, she really does love Floyd! She expresses her gratitude in the most adorable way possible.

The next morning, I finally got a shot of what Floyd looks like without the hat and glasses. He kind of reminds me of Fix-It-Felix. Anyone else see it?

A rare shot of Elvira actually being a Slob. *gasp*
Elvira: *screeches and whirls plate at the camera*

When Floyd was trying so hard to get that promotion, it was also because he got an opportunity to read a book for work and I didn't want him to do that until he actually needed the work performance. So now that he has the promotion, here he is on their second-story balcony trying to cram the book in before work.

When he gets home, before he starts the book again, Floyd gardens. Okay, I can see why people build cutesy gardens now. It's kinda nice. I'm liking the look of it so far.

Once out of work, Elvira verbally tackles the nearest person, which happens to be Darron Moreno.
Elivra: Don't you just love work?! I do! Today, there was this lady that used a nail gun on her--
(Seriously. She ran up to this guy and tried to Enthuse about Work, but he was having none of it.)
Darron: *in posh accent* Excuuuuse me. You've just interrupted our family's daily reading. Kindly remove yourself from our circle.

He's not kidding. The entire Moreno family was reading, including Darron, before Elvira interrupted. I think it'd be fun to have a family reading outing. Adding that to a list of hypothetical-family activities. I'm gonna be a great parent.

Yep. This is the face of someone who just finished a really great book.

Seeing that Elvira isn't fazed, Darron goes on to talk about his wonderful children. ...Who all apparently have no eyes...

And then complains about the book he was just reading. What?
Elvira: *strangled pterodactyl noises*

Then this guy waltzes into the shot. Is EVERYONE missing eyes around here? *cringe*

Back at home, Floyd wanted to improve his Cooking, so he fixes some mac'n'cheese and looks like he's having fun doing so.

When Elvira is just about to leave for home, this guy (Theodore Lum) stops her to talk about the stars coming out.

Meanwhile, Darron and his wife Jody have snuck around to the side of the hospital for a little private romantic moment.

Apparently Pablo Martinez, Elvira's boss' husband, is disgusted by this.

Elvira finally gets the chance to go home when Theodore's distracted by a book. I'm wondering why she's looking to the side until I follow her stare.

Pablo is being an unmitigated jerk to the Morenos. Jody's furious, but Darron's just hurt. :(

So, to get back at him, Darron flirts with Jody right in front of him. You go, Darron!

Darron: BOOM.
